Animals have a unique and special way of touching the lives of persons with disabilities. Therapeutic riding improves cognitive and physical skills through interaction with horses and volunteers. There are many benefits to people with a variety of disorders. This program was a dream that has become a reality. The goal of this program is to provide an activity that positively affects the cognitive, emotional, physical and social well being of the campers by using horseback riding as a therapeutic medium.

We are excited about this new program because it gives us a new way to help those in need. After a successful trial year, we are set to launch the program full-force in 2005. We are going to offer three sessions throughout the summer. Please check the Calendar of Events for more information about session dates. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in this program please read the application information.

Thanks to a number of new facilities, we are now able to provide this unique service to the community.

This program, like all of the programs at the camp, is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. They help riders groom, tack and mount their horses. They also lead the horses and sidewalk during the lessons. This helps the riders feel secure and comfortable around the horses and also helps them concentrate on the task at hand.

Thanks to everyone who has helped us realize this dream. We have so many people working for our cause and it is because of you that all of this is possible. Everyone at the camp greatly appreciates the efforts of our volunteers and donors.
